The five then sit awkwardly and talk about how it was all an accident and that it didn't mean anything. They start to find more zombies as they approach their destination, and an unexpected wire barrier causes Rei to fall off the Humvee. Just then, a dog, later recognized as , starts barking outside, which starts to attract the zombies. Meanwhile, Shizuka imagines Saya as , while Saya imagines Shizuka as. Takashi and Rei continue moving through the city, until they encounter a police car.
As the cast tries to survive the , they must also face the additional threats of , in the form of dangerous fellow survivors, and the possible decay of their own. Everyone ends up a little creeped out at Kohta, who has chosen a female school swimsuit. She looks the other way and sees Rei and Saeko are kissing passionately while naked on the beach, both moaning Takashi's name. Takashi goes to warn Rei and his best friend , who is dating Rei, and escapes with them just before news of the attack spreads across the school, causing panic. This was done out of decency by the writers. Meanwhile, the girls, deciding they can no longer stay at the apartment, prepare to load up to move on.
