You can actually open the sound playback device window and see the icon comes and goes as you play around enabling and disabling the audio controller. I can't play back my newest 6-channel movie! After disabling those, disable your Realtek driver.
I've previously installed this same driver, so I have no idea why it suddenly stopped working properly. I have tried using two different types of headphones and the sound still comes through the laptop speakers instead of the headphones. I definitely didn't disable it, which is confusing. I did attempt to use the Intel automatic driver update, but that failed since Intel's update utility said I was running a manufacturer supplied driver and refused to update it for me. Whatever the tv would be listed under in Sound, there's no other options besides my laptop speakers. Is it a setting within itunes that I have to change, or a system setting?
