Got the false low battery warning again yesterday. What resolved the issue was to go to control panel and un install just the nvidia 3d audio driver from programs add remove section. I really wish Shield would get universal search like Roku has had forever. Please note: this is the developer firmware and not suited to update a Shield that was using the stock firmware! Are you noticing the same thing? This might help someone else too. Tested and working rollback options to 7. We appreciate your patience and want to ensure you have the best experience possible.
Please let me know when this will be fixed and if feeling frisky a reasonable explanation of what went wrong with this update. Have you tried looking for comments on Nvidia's own Shield Forum? Hi folks, In need of some aid here, I'm hitting a wall. I got another last night. I have checked the Nvidia control panel for anything, and reset to default settings where I could with no avail either. I power cycled the Shield several times and could only get the stochastically blinking Nvidia logo.
I closed it by using the windows task manager 'ctrl'+'alt'+'delete' and run the driver installer again. Does it also go to sleep the instant you put it down or within 2-3s meaning to use it you have to pick up and wait for it to wake up, like the remote? Go into settings, set updates to manual and noification. I will try that when I get home. I was not really sure how much Nvdia actually care about fixing frimware related issues cause by updates. A rollback to the 7. I've read many similar posts, but nothing that actually quite matches what I'm experiencing.
Sound restores when I exit back to the desktop. I was experiencing the same issue with periodic audio drops in anything I played whether it was Plex, YouTube or Netflix. My computer staid like that then i had to reboot it. Find it click on it and remove. I actually do have the Shield controller but I never considered using it as a remote, and thanks to this post I will now do that! I haven't looked into it but even if they say they have autoswitching does it really recognize that movies on Netflix are 24Hz and youtube 60Hz? Even the Plex Kodi plugin works fine so the issue is clearly with Plex client app. If it's hardware, because it would be an engineering issue that has affected many buyers, I expect a replacement remote. How are you connecting the headphones then? There seems to be a problem with 7.
And still the same problem. The issue is much less if I switch to 2-channel audio from 5. Both of my shields experience this issue, and I have tried un-pairing swapping and re-pairing and still have the issue. I never use the voice search feature on either the small remote or the controller, so I can't help on how it functions. I've swapped cables, but most of the ones I have are pretty old and the same issue happens with different cables. Reboot restores sound, as does simply leaving the computer alone for an extended period much to my surprise. There was nothing rushed either as such kernel related updates usually are one of the best things for a device.
Now there is no signal. Video keeps playing and as far as I can tell nothing is ever out-of-sync…when audio comes back on after a dropout everything is in sync. But it does seem that the lag is reduced. Spoke to Nvidia support and the sent me a procedure to reset the video signal. I have devices that went through several Nougat updates and now a few Oreo updates but still get no kernel updates at all. I know the files are fine.
The Libraries with movies play sound fine. I have checked several things, recently I tried running Furmark for stress testing the card and it shuts down the software efter 4. Back on the homescreen the notification for the update shall be there and you can just dismiss it. On the screen that pops up you can then pause the download. I've read many similar posts, but nothing that actually quite matches what I'm experiencing. Anybody else get the low battery warning with the 7. Did you contact Nvidia about your low battery warning and, if so, what did Nvidia say? It seems that the warning is now creeping up in frequency from weeks to days.
The system to automatically detected unlocked bootloder and provide the full update doesn't seem to be working. It appears to get randomly but rarely stuck on the down button. Wroks really well then for me, so my hands might just too big as I also struggle with medium sized gloves. I get it every time I turn the Shield on, multiple times even when I dismiss. Have any of you experienced similar Bluetooth accessory issues after this update? Pausing and restarting play makes the audio return. Once the sound returns, it is fine for the remainder of the viewing session. Using headphones the Realtek drivers results in perfect audio performance with zero issues.
